The short version: TabSnooze does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything it stores lives on your own device (or in your own Chrome account's sync storage). We do not operate any servers that receive your browsing data.
TabSnooze does not:
TabSnooze stores all operational data in Chrome's built-in storage APIs — chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync. This data never leaves Chrome unless Chrome's own sync service sends it to your Google account (see Section 2b).
| Key | What it contains | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
tab_<tabId> | Original URL, page title, favicon URL, timestamp | Restoring suspended tabs |
settings | Your preferences (auto-suspend toggle, timeout, theme) | Applying your configuration |
whitelist | List of domain strings you have added | Preventing auto-suspend on whitelisted domains |
session_<id> | Array of URLs in a saved session | Restoring named sessions |
lastAlarmFire | Timestamp of last TAB_SWEEP alarm | Service worker health monitoring |
errorLog | Rolling log of up to 50 internal errors | Diagnosing crashes — never transmitted |
totalSuspended | Count of tabs suspended since install | Triggering the in-app upgrade prompt |
When you activate a Pro license, sessions are stored in chrome.storage.sync so they are available across your Chrome profiles. This data is synced by Chrome to your Google account using Google's own infrastructure — governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not ours.
| Key | What it contains |
|---|---|
license | Your license key string |
session_<id> | Your named session tab URLs (Pro only) |
TabSnooze does not have a server that receives this sync data.
TabSnooze Pro is sold through Paddle (paddle.com), a Merchant of Record that handles payment processing, VAT, GST, and other tax obligations globally.
When you click "Buy License": a new browser tab opens to a Paddle-hosted payment page. All payment data is entered on Paddle's page and handled entirely by Paddle. TabSnooze never receives, processes, stores, or transmits your payment information. Paddle's Privacy Policy applies to the payment transaction.
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
tabs | Read the URL and title of open tabs to suspend and restore them |
storage | Store your settings, whitelist, sessions, and suspended tab metadata |
alarms | Create the periodic TAB_SWEEP alarm that drives auto-suspend |
activeTab | Read the URL of the tab you are currently viewing |
TabSnooze does not request <all_urls>, webRequest, history, bookmarks, identity, or any permission that would give it access to your browsing history or page content.
TabSnooze is not directed at children under 13 (COPPA) or children under 16 (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Because TabSnooze does not collect, store, or process personal data on any server we operate, GDPR obligations on data controllers do not arise in the conventional sense. The only personal data associated with your use is your license key stored in Chrome's sync storage on your device — we never hold it on a server.
For GDPR requests (access, rectification, erasure, portability), contact privacy@tab-snooze.com. For data held by Paddle, contact Paddle directly.
TabSnooze does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. For any CCPA inquiries, contact: privacy@tab-snooze.com
All data TabSnooze stores is in your own Chrome browser. To delete all TabSnooze data: go to chrome://extensions → TabSnooze → "Remove extension." Chrome will delete all associated storage data for the extension.
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and provide notice within the Extension where required by law. The current version is always available at tab-snooze.com/privacy.
